Anita Joy-Thomas, BDS, PhD, FDTFEd, FRSPH
Anita Joy-Thomas, BDS, PhD, FDTFEd, FRSPH, is Professor and Chair of the Department of Diagnostic and Biomedical Sciences and the Peggy A. O’Neill Distinguished Professor for Biomedical Sciences at UTHealth School of Dentistry. With a background as a clinician-scientist, Dr. Joy-Thomas has been engaged in dental education and research for over two decades, having directed integrated biomedical sciences curricula and led translational work in oral cancer, HPV prevention, and integrated dental medicine. She actively serves the profession through ADEA, CODA, and the INDBE Test Construction Committee, and is internationally recognized as a Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health and the Faculty of Dental Trainers, Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh.
