Lynn Beck Brallier, Ph.D.

Senior Consultant

Dr. Beck Brallier is a Senior Consultant for AAL and works extensively in the areas of instructional design, educational research, and andragogic teaching and learning. With her extensive background in adult higher education, Dr. Beck Brallier has contributed significantly to various AAL consulting projects with universities and colleges throughout the United States.

In addition to her role at AAL, Dr. Beck Brallier is a professor emerita and former dean of the Gladys L. Benerd School of Education at the University of the Pacific. Prior to her work in higher education, she worked as a secondary school teacher and as a pediatric and adolescent nurse in the Vanderbilt University Health System.

Dr. Beck Brallier’s research focuses on evidence based teaching and leading in the health professions, on ethics in educational leadership, and on educational reform strategies. She is the author or co-author of eight books and numerous chapters and articles. Between 2002 and 2014, she also was the principal investigator for more than three million dollars of federal and state grants.

At the University of the Pacific, Dr. Beck Brallier led the School of Education in the establishment of a number of innovative graduate programs including a doctoral program in education for faculty at the Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry and, through a partnership with AAL, a master’s degree program for faculty teaching in health care professions.

Lynn Beck Brallier is the recipient of a number of awards. Most recently, she received the Joseph J. Krejewski Award of Merit for Service to the Dental Profession from the Northern California Section of the American College of Dentists and the Susan B. Anthony Award from the San Joaquin County Commission on the Status of Women. She enjoys an active retirement, offering consulting services through AAL, continuing service on several boards, and pursuing research and writing on, among other things, education in the health professions.
