AAL can customize each of the following online programs for your audience's needs:

Preceptor Training: Supportive Learning for Clinical Preceptors

Podcasts are customized to suit the amount of time your clinical preceptors have for training and the depth of knowledge they need. Materials can be compressed into a two-hour overview or expanded to six podcasts of 90 minutes each, with assignments before or after each presentation. CEs and certificates of completion can be offered for any option.

This course is designed to prepare the clinical preceptor to utilize the best educational practices in the role of the facilitator of learning for senior practicum students and externs. The course is based on adult learning principles and support for critical thinking at the bedside. The format utilizes the Student Assessment Evaluation Form competencies: Provider of Care, Manager of Care, and Member of the Profession.

Developing Critical Thinking at the Bedside

Podcasts are customized to suit the amount of time your faculty have for training and the depth of knowledge they need. Materials can be compressed into a two-hour overview or expanded to eight podcasts of 90 minutes each, with assignments before or after each presentation. CEs and certificates of completion can be offered for any option.

This course introduces a structured critical thinking approach to achieving the Institute of Medicine Competencies. Participant Nurse Educators will be guided by Critical Thinking Habits of the Mind and Critical Thinking Skills in critiquing nursing assessment, inter-disciplinary planning, and setting goals for patient health outcomes. The course offers suggestions for assessing the critical thinking abilities of patients and families to participate in care. The goal of the course is that Nurse Educators are prepared to support and guide staff nurses in critical thinking at the bedside.
